Remember: Just because you may or may not receive harsh or useless criticism in the beginning does NOT mean this site is useless. Don't flame out within the first month, persevere, and keep at it. Ask questions. Count yourself lucky if Medi or Proenglish plus takes a gander at your work. This is a site that rewards your efforts down the road...
If we post an unassigned review, like in the community section, will we be graded on those as well?
@Todge - only if somebody is kind enough to review it on their own volition. Any works posted in the public submissions are in no way guaranteed to receive reviews unless they have also been submitted for 'actual' reviews by the author.
Oh I understood that but I mean will the reviews given then be graded as well? I'm just wondering because I'm a little worried of risking lowering my reviewer score.
Hi, I'm new and I got a question too: is there a way to specify what genre I don't want to get assigned to as a reviewer? I mean, I don't mind reading what I don't like, but there are some kind that I definitely can't read. Like horror.
And when I submit a piece, can I write somewhere my questions I want to be answered?
@Syll
I'm not sure about choosing your genre. I'm new to this site as well.
But, when you submit a project, you can add in the project description what kind of review you're looking for.
I believe only premium members are able to choose which writers or genres theyd prefer not to review. I know I've had to review poetry, essays, non-fiction. All things I generally dont read or write about but still its good for everyone to not always read the exact type of thing you would normally choose. Variety is the spice of life.
As a premium member, I don't know of any way to chose what genre I critique. But I might just not have found it. :)
New to this site, looking around, trying to find my way around as well. Will be uploading some of my writing soon, just as soon as i've got my bearings.
