I have not been in one. What's the deal? Dynamics. . do they criticize too much? Are they picky? I will tell you that if there are 20 people in a group, you will get all of their opinions and none the same.

nature of writer's groups
Tags:
never been in a writer's group myself. Would like to find out more, although if they are unsatisfactory, as you say, then I guess it wouldn't be all that great...
you will get that at the book store from your readers as well you cant please everyone write for your self and fu** anyone who dont like it
you need a group that is copacetic, where there's a theme (literary, romance, mystery, etc) and where one ego driven person doesn't drive everything.

i have been in several and found all of them unsatisfactory because of the "dynamics" of the group. I would like to discuss this further and to determine how much of this is "Me" and how much "them."
